Born at Brookston, he came to Frankfort from Colfax in 1943. He resided at 253 S. 2nd St. In 1918 he was married at Lafayette to M. Margaret Beeker, and she survives. Mr. Hornbeck was a carman for Norfolk and Western Railroad before his retirement. He was a member of Clinton Lodge 54,. F&AM, and Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America. Surviving with the widow is one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Dorothy) Hill of Reynolds.


John married Magdalena "Maggie" Beeker, daughter of John L. Beeker and Dora Hendrickson.
