Also in the home is farm hand Joseph Pruett, 17. Everyone was born in Indiana except Hannah in Ohio. Samuel's real estate was valued at $3850 and personal estate $395. Two households later is William Beeker, 29, living with wife Elizabeth, 27; Joseph, 3; Lovinas, 2; and Lorsena, 7 months. Also in the home is farm hand John B. Pruett, 21. Oddly, William has no real estate value, but John Pruett has $6260 with a personal estate worth $1395, suggesting he owned the land. On the same page is his mother, widow Barbara Pruitt, 53, living with her children Randolph, 14; Jane, 11, and Margaret 9. Barbara is nee Beeker, the sister of Samuel and William. 6. Newspaper: Star Press: Mrs. Hale Bothere By Night Prowlers, 1 Jul 1917, Muncie, Delaware, IN. 11 MRS. HALE BOTHERED BY NIGHT PROWLERS
Mother of Kile Hale, at Redkey, Relates Experience at Her Home Friday Night.
Redkey, Ind., June 80. -- Mrs. Cena Hale, mother of Kile Hale, who has been one of the leading witnesses for the state in the Brown murder trial, this morning, weeping, related a circumstance that happened at her home about 10 o'clock last night. She said some one stepped onto her front porch and tried the door knob twice and when she asked who it was and what they wanted, she got no reply. Mrs. Hale called some neighbors by phone. As Ralph Williamson passed the Hale home, his services were sought in trying to locate who the night prowlers were.
Is Not the First Time.
Kile Hale was not at home at the time. Mrs. Hale says on other occasions she has been molested by night prowlers since the murder of Roy Brown. Since Hale returned from Canada to be a witness in the recent trial, it is said he has spent most of nights at Muncie. Naturally of course the citizens of Redkey and vicinity have been more interested in the Roy Brown murder trial than those of any other place. Never was there a time when the people of this community waited more anxiously than they did to hear the result of the Flashback trial.
The local news dealer has sold more than 5,000 daily papers during the trial which is the best In his eleven years experience.
