Born in Lebanon on October 23, 1955, he was a son of the late John A., Sr. and Sara A. (Beicher) Gerberich. James worked as an electrician in Lebanon County for many years. He was a 1974 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School. He enjoyed sprint car racing, sports, and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies, Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Blackhawks fan. Surviving are six brothers and sisters, Carol A., wife of Franklin Bretz of Pine Grove, Linda S., wife of John Basel, Jr. of Lebanon, Joseph A., husband of Wendy Gerberich of Fredericksburg, Robert A. Gerberich of Lebanon, Thomas E. Gerberich of Lebanon, William M. husband of Shelly Gerberich of Mifflintown; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by two brothers, John A. Gerberich, Jr. and Richard A. Gerberich. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. from Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon, 17042. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Viewing hours will be held Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
