Reuben was renting his home.

Newspaper: Lebanon Daily News: Barber Beicher at Heffelfinger Shop, 27 Apr 1914, Lebanon, Lebanon, PA. 16 James Beicher, who has been connected with Newton Holland's barber shop for some time, has resigned his position, and has assumed similar duties at the shop of Paul Heffelfinger, in the Central Hotel building, on South Eighth street. Mr. beicher is not only a skilled mechanic and a real tonsorial artist, but he is courteous and affable, and is sure to be liked by the patrons of the establishment. He takes the place of David Stine, who resigned to go into business for himself.

His purchase includes all the first-class fixtures of the establishment, and as he is well known to the patrons of the place as a first-class tonsorial artist, his future is assured. He has had wide experience in the business, and is fully capable of conducting the establishment with the first class service which has always been a characteristic of the place. Mr. Heffelfinger will start a new shop on North Ninth street.

Newspaper: Lebanon Daily News: Return From Two-Day Fishing Trip, 21 Sep 1916, Lebanon, Lebanon, PA. 19 James Beicher, Henry Eisenhauer, and Harry Krill and son, Paul, all well known fishermen of this city, returned late yesterday afternoon from a two day fishing trip at Hindnagle's, in the vicinity of Valley Glen. The trip was rewarded with a fine catch of finny specimens, including a number of eels, and all were viewed with much interest by friends when the party was on the up-town streets enroute home. The trip was made in Mr. Krill's Pierce-Arrow (Brush) machine.

James A. Beiccher, the South Eighth street barber, proved to be a "king of good fellows" on Sunday when he entertained a number of friends at his home 306i North Prune avenue. The festivities commenced early in the afternoon and continued until late into the evenlng, with music by a seven piece orchestra the main feature of the event.
Throughout the entire afternoon and evening the orchestra played with a snap and dash that Is associated with Lebanon musicians, and only stopped for an hour during the supper hour to enjoy a sumptious chicken nnd waffle supper served by Mrs. Beicher, thn tonsorial artist's mother. Mrs. Beicher fully upheld her reputation as a culllnary expert and those who tasted of the fine set-out said that it wns the best they had ever had the pleasure of eatlng. Those who enjoyed thn Beicher hospitality included Mr. nnd Mrs. Charles Krueger, Mr. nnd Mrs. John Lerch, Paul Nagle, Joseph
Beckley, James Garvie, Arthur Hoover. Charles Deltzler, Harry Krill, Grant Rooks, Samuel Hoover, Robert Arnold, Charles Bomberger, Charles Moudy, Mark Arnold, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Beicher, James Beicher and Harry Ilgenfritz. During his absence the shop will be conducted for Mr. Beicher by his own two employees, the Huber brothers.

Friends of James A. Beicher, the South Eighth street barber, and proprietor of the Beicher tonsorlal parlors, who is a member of Company H. and went with the company to Georgia on Monday, are greatly interested in his protograph which is being shown at the parlors. In addition to the picture of Barber Beicher in full khaki uniform there is also a picture of his brother, Private John R. Beicher, who is identified with the 33d United States Infantry, Company M, stationed at Gatun Camp, Canal Zone, Panama. Both photographs are good of the soldier boys and are attracting more than ordinary attention.

JAMES BEICHER WRITES ABOUT LIFE IN CAMP

James Beicher, proprietor of the Beicher tonsorial parlors, on South Eighth street, who is serving the colors with the 4th Company, 107th Machine Gun Balttalion, formerly Company H, encamped at Camp Hancock, August. Georgia, has written an interesting letter to his mother, Mrs. Reuben Beicher, living at 366 Prune avenue. The letter contained some of Jim's photos in addition to much interesting Information concerning camp life. Jim writes that the weather is cold, and that French and English army officers are assisting in training the Sammies in Camp Hancock.
Another interesting part of the letter was the company's menu for the Thanksgiving dinner which included turkey, filling, peas, celery, mince and peach pie, cake and cocoa. Mrs. Beicher sent her son a box of "goodies" from home, which will probably be more appreciated than all the Thanksgiving dinners away from home.

Morgal's barber shop, on South Eighth street, for a number of years, and who is recognized as one of the most skillful of Lebanon's tonsorial artists, has purchased the Biecher barber shoip, in the Central hotel building. James Biecher who enlisted in Company H last year, is with that organization, now a machine gun battalion, and is about to go to France. The shop was closed last week by the men who had been left in charge. The sale to Mr. Blouch was made today thru the medium of barber Biecher's parents.Mr. Blouch is not only skilled but has business capacity and his many friends wish him great success in the venture. He will open the place again on Wednesday of this week.

Beicher tells of being in high spirits and looking forward to his early return to his command. Beicher is well remembered here, having been proprietor of the Central hotel barber shop at the time of his enlistment in Company H., Fourth Pennsylvania Infantry.

Mr. Biecher, prior to his defending the colors as a member of Company H, was proprietor of the Central barber shop on South Eighth street.

He is in Co. M. 33rd Regt., regular army, and is stationed at Panama. The two brothers were glad to see each other again and his many friends in the Fifth Ward greeted him to this city. He looks fine as all returned soldier boys appear.

The cause of it all is their celebration of their first wedding anniversary, which they celebrated with a dinner Sunday. However cards of good wishes and congratulations continued to arrive as late as this morning. Mr. Beicher is well known to a host of people as a barber conducting his place of business at the aforementioned address.

James A. Beicher Dies; World War 1 Veteran

James A. Beicher, 146 Lehman Street, died this moining at 8:10 at his home, after a six-year illness. Ha was 58.
He was a retired barber, a member of St. Gertrude's Church, tha Holy Name Society, and the Rescue Fire Company.
Beicher was a veteran of World War I, having served overseas with Company D, 19th Machine Gun Battalion of the 28th Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received during his overseas tour of duty. t
Surviving are his wife, Mabel (Deck) Beicher; two daughters, Anna, at home, and Sarah, wife of John Gerberich, Lebanon; a granddaughter, Carol Ann Gerberlch; two brothers, John and Joseph Beicher, both of Lebanon; and a sister, Helen, wife of Andrew Winkler, Cleona.
