2. Census in 1860 in Upper Tulpehocken Township, Berks, PA. 9 The 1860 census recorded Michael Fike, farmer, 75, living with wife Salory, 78; son Gabriel, 40, farm laborer; Jacob, 30, farm laborer; and May, 33. Also in the home is Michael's grandchildren born of his daughter Lydia Feick who married John Groh and listed as Lucetta Greth, 19, and her brother Israel, 14. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office was Stausstown.

3. Census in 1870 in Upper Bern Twp., Berks County, PA. 10 The 1870 census recorded Reuben Becher, occupation daily laborer, age 7, living with his mother, Lucetta Pott [indexed as Port], 31, who married Jacob Pott, coal burner, 33, following the death of Reuben's father at the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. Living with them was his half-brother, John Pott, 6. They are living on the property of Lucetta's father, John Groh, 55, coal burner, and his wife Lydia, 54, and their children. The post office was Rehersburg.

4. Census in 1880 in Cornwall Twp., Lebanon, PA. 11 The 1880 census recorded Samuel Blottenberger, day laborer, 32, living with wife Lucetta, 30; and son Daniel, age 5 months born in January, 1880. Also in their home is step child Anna Heisey, 2. Living next door is Jacob Blottenberger, 66, with wife Mary, 64, with their daughter Caroline, 19; and son Joseph, 22. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Census in 1900 in West Cornwall Township, Lebanon, PA. 1 The 1900 census recorded Samuel Blottenberger, day laborer, 52, born Apr 1848, living with wife Lucetta, 60, Sep 1840; son Daniel, railroad laborer, 23, Nov 1877; son David, at school, 15, Jan 1885. Also in the home are two boarders who are Lucetta's younger brothers: boarder Jacob Groh, day laborer, 39, Jul 1861; and boarder Davilla Groth, ore miner, 41, May 1859. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. Samuel and Lucetta were married for 21 years. She had birthed 3 children and 2 were alive in 1900.

Mrs. Lucetta Blattenberger Passes Away Aged 68 Years.
Mrs. Lucetta, wife of Samuel Blattenberger, of Bismarck, died there on Saturday afternoon at 3.45 o'clock of a complication of ailments, aged 68 years, seven months and 29 days. She was ill about three months.
Mrs. Blattenberger was married twice her first husband's name having been Biecher. Her maiden name was Groh. Her second husband and the following sons survive: Reuben Biecher, of Lebanon; Daniel and David Blattenberger, of Bismarck.
Two brothers, Jacob and Davilla Groh, of Bismarck, and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Dietzler, of Bismarck and Mrs. William Dohner, of Mt. Pleasant, also survive.
The deceased was a member of Bismarck Reformed church.

[Note: Bismarck today is renamed as Quentin, Pa.].

Obituary: Lebanon Daily News: Mrs Lucetta Blattenberger on 1 Jun 1909 in Lebanon, Lebanon, PA. 13 Mrs. Lucetta, wife of Samuel Blattenberger, of Bismarck, died on Saturday afternoon of senile debility, aged 68 years. She is survived by her husband and three children, Reuben Beicher, daniel and David Blattenberger; six grand children and one great grand child. Two brothers, Jacob and Davilla Groh; and as many sisters, Mrs. Jessie Ditzler and Mrs. William Dohner, also survive. Her maiden name was Groh and she was thrice married.


Lucetta married Pvt. Reuben Beecher, son of John Beecher III and Susan Schmidt, in 1862 in , Berks, PA. (Pvt. Reuben Beecher was born on 14 Sep 1840 in Bern Twp., Berks, PA,14 15 16 17 18 died on 26 Jul 1863 in Gettysburg, Adams, PA 15 16 17 18 and was buried in Bern Twp.: Epler's Church Cemetery, Berks, PA 15 16 17.)
