Census in 1870 in Upper Bern Twp., Berks County, PA. 14 The 1870 census recorded Reuben Becher, occupation daily laborer, age 7, living with his mother, Lucetta Pott [indexed as Port], 31, who married Jacob Pott, coal burner, 33, following the death of Reuben's father at the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. Living with them was his half-brother, John Pott, 6. They are living on the property of Lucetta's father, John Groh, 55, coal burner, and his wife Lydia, 54, and their children. The post office was Rehersburg.

He was married for 12 years to Emma, 32, born Oct 1867, who had given birth to seven children, four still living in 1900. In their home: Priscilla G., 11, Jul 1888; James A., 6, Mar 1894; Agnes J., 1, Aug 1898; and John R., 7 months, Oct 1899. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. Reuben was renting his home.

Census in 1910 in Lebanon, Lebanon, PA. 1 Reuben Bucher [census taker's handwriting could easily be Biecher instead of Bucher], laborer in iron works, 47, was married for 26 years to wife Mary, 43. She had given birth to 10 children, 7 of whom were living in 1910. Also in their household: Priscilla, machine operator in shirt factory, 21; James, barber, 16; Agnes, 13; John, 10; Joseph, 8; and Helen, 7. Also in the home was Gertrude Kauffman, granddaughter, 4. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania as were their parents.

Reuben S. Beicher Dies At Home This Morning

Reuben s. Beicher, sixty-eight years old, of 366 North Prune alley, died at his home this morning at eight o'clock of complications following a two months illness. He was a member of St. Mary's church and the Holy Name Society.
Her is survived by the following children: James, Lebanon; John, Minersville; Joseph, at home; Mrs. Charles Kochert, Mrs. John Lerch and Mrs. Andrew Winkler. Nine grand children and one great grand child also survive.

16. Newspaper: Lebanon Daily News: Reuben F. Beicher is Buried this Morning, 29 Jan 1932, Lebanon, Lebanon, PA. 18 Funeral services were held this morning at nine o'clock for Reuben F. Beicher, of 366 North prune street, in St. Mary's church with Father C. J. Helfrich officiating. Interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery. Bearers were: Henry Ullman, Leo and Charles Coleman, John and Frank Richards, and Steven Brill. P. H. Thompson's Sons were in charge of arrangements.
