He was married for 12 years to Emma, 32, born Oct 1867, who had given birth to seven children, four still living in 1900. In their home: Priscilla G., 11, Jul 1888; James A., 6, Mar 1894; Agnes J., 1, Aug 1898; and John R., 7 months, Oct 1899. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. Reuben was renting his home.

Friends of James A. Beicher, the South Eighth street barber, and proprietor of the Beicher tonsorlal parlors, who is a member of Company H. and went with the company to Georgia on Monday, are greatly interested in his protograph which is being shown at the parlors. In addition to the picture of Barber Beicher in full khaki uniform there is also a picture of his brother, Private John R. Beicher, who is identified with the 33d United States Infantry, Company M, stationed at Gatun Camp, Canal Zone, Panama. Both photographs are good of the soldier boys and are attracting more than ordinary attention.

Many friends will be glad to learn that he is improving nicely, and he hopes to be back at his post again within a short time.

Beicher, who is stationed with Company M., 33d United States infantry, in the Panama Canal Zone. The gifts include a large handkerchief, upon which is printed a shield, with the lettering "U. S. Army -- War of 1917," in the corner; a large silk muffler, with the flags of the allies around the border; a cushion top, and a French flag, with the photo of the sender embroidered in the center.
The gifts are on display at the Beicher barber shop, on South Eighth street, next to the Central hotel.

He is in Co. M. 33rd Regt., regular army, and is stationed at Panama. The two brothers were glad to see each other again and his many friends in the Fifth Ward greeted him to this city. He looks fine as all returned soldier boys appear.

Beicher, 1142 Old Cumberland St., was reported to city police Tuesday. After the wheel was removed the car was allowed to drop down on the brake drum. Teh car was parked on a lot opposite his home Sunday evening and Beicher discovered the wheel missing Tuesday. He placed his loss at about $40.

25. Obituary: Lebanon Daily News: obituary of John R. Beicher on 19 May 1972 in Lebanon, Lebanon, PA. 28 John R. Beicher, 1142 Old Cumberland St., died Thursday morning in Good Samaritan Hospital. He had been in poor health for a year and was 72.
Born in Lebanon County, he was a son of the late Reuben and Mary Gelbach Beicher. His widow is Dorothy Stine Beicher. The Beichers would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October.
A retired employee of the Lebanon Steel Foundry, he was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, the Reitred Men's Club and Senior Citizens.
He served in the Army overseas during World War I.
Besides his wife, surviving is a son, Joseph R. Springfield, Va., and three grandchildren. A son, John, died in 1957.


John married Dorothy H. Stine, daughter of John Stine and Mary Youdis, on 9 Oct 1922 in Minersville, Schuylkill, PA.1 (Dorothy H.
