Jesse died Friday, July 19, 1996, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport, from injuries received in a single-vehicle automobile accident earlier in the day in Bettendorf.

He was born Nov. 10, 1979, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of David and Penny Beecher Stoakes.

He was to be a junior at Pleasant Valley High School in the fall and was currently employed at Hy-Vee Food Store in Bettendorf.

At Pleasant Valley High School, Jesse was a member of Young Life and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was active in football, basketball and soccer. He enjoyed music, piano and animals including his dog and cat. He was a friend to everyone who knew him.

Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund to be established at a later date.

Survivors include his parents; a brother, Chris of Bettendorf; his grandmother, Nadine Stoakes, Traer, Iowa; his grandfather, Richard Beecher, Traer; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Charlotte Beecher, and his grandfather, Robert Stoakes.
