The service was Monday ab Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, Fredericksburg. Burial was in Laurel Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Witmer was born June 8, 1943, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. She was the daughter of the late Norman Jacob and Ruth Louise (Paules) Monson. She was a registered nurse for -Mary Washington Hospital. She was a member of Second United Church of Christ and Creative Arts Center of Fredericksburg, where she was director. Mrs. Witmer also is survived by a son, David B. Witmer IV of Fredericksburg; a daughter, Sherry Lynn Halphen of Laredo, Texas; a brother, Norman J. Monson of York; and nephews. Officiating at the service were the Rev. Kevin Crowder and the Rev. Jim Vaught. Memorial contributions may be made to Linda R. Witmer Oncology Nursing Scholarship Fund, Mary Washington Hospital Foundation, Box 1958, Fredericksburg, Va. 22402.
