4. Obituary: Republican and Herald on 25 May 2001 in Pottsville, Schuylkill, PA. ³ William J. Harkins, 75, formerly of Shenandoah, died Thursday at Pottsville Hospital. Born in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late William and Anne Donlen Harkins. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James; two sisters, Patricia Hinderliter and Anne Joyce. Surviving are two sons, John, Gordon, and Alfred, Maryland; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah.
