5. Obituary: Miltonian on 24 Apr 1924 in Milton, Northumberland, PA. 8 Abbott Greene Bucher, of Lewisburg, well known in Milton where he enjoyed a wide circle of friends, died very suddenly Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in the Y.M.C.A. building at Andover, N.Y. Mr. Bucher had just entered the building and, without warning, fell over on the floor. He was pronounced dead by the physician who quickly responded to the call.
He had been in apparent good health to the moment of his death. Mr. Bucher was not known in Andover, and it was some time before his identity was ascertained. His body was brought to the home of his brother in Lewisburg on Tuesday.
Mr. Bucher was the youngest son of the late Judge and Mrs. Joseph C. Bucher, born and educated in Lewisburg. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and one of the most popular men in this section of the state.
For the past several years, he had traveled for several firms and was most successful as a salesman. He was a member of Charity Lodge No. 144, F. & A.M., of Lewisburg, and Milton Lodge, No. 913, B.P.O. Elks, of Milton. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Harry W. Chamberlin, of Milton, and two brothers, John W. Bucher and Casper Bucher, of Lewisburg. His funeral was held this afternoon from the residence of his brother, John. Rev. F.B. Everitt, of the Lewisburg Presbyterian Church, and Rev. W.G. Felmeth of Milton officiated. Interment was made in Lewisburg Cemetery.
