She had been in her usual health during the day, and in the evening she had called at the home of her brother, William C. Walls, who was seriously ill. After inquiry concerning him and conversation with the family, she started on her return home. On the way, and when near her own residence, she sank to the pavement. Several young men who witnessed her fall sped to her assistance and helped her to her home. She died a few minutes after her arrival. Deceased was highly honored wherever known, was a member and a help to the Presbyterian church, a loyal wife, an affectionate mother, and a faultless neighbor. Her death was heralded to the community as the most unwelcome news that could be imparted, and the sad intelligence caused unfeigned sorrow throughout the town.
