1. Obituary: on 24 Jun 2024 in Downingtown, Chester, PA. 3 Mason C. Linn, 91, passed away on Monday June 24, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was the son of Mason and Charlotte (Krauss) Linn. Mason is survived by his sister Connie Cassel, brother-in-law Lawrence Cassel and sister-in-law Marie Linn and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his brother Jim Linn (2014) and sister Charlotte Linn (1992). Mason was married to Yvonne Bucher Linn who preceded him in death in 2017. Together they had five children, Gregg Linn (Bobbi), Gary Linn, Donna Hepner (Daniel), Douglas Linn (Caroline) and Peter Linn. Nine grandchildren; Brad Linn, Kate Gibbons, Erin Hankins, Elizabeth Barringer, Molly Candelaria, Laura Clark, Melissa Linn, Monica Linn and Denise Linn. Great grandchildren Finley Hankins, Cadalynn Hankins, Poppy Barringer, Bellamy Barringer, Valley Barringer, Micah Candelaria, Daniella Candelaria, Elijah Candelaria and Beau Clark. Mason was born on July 5, 1932 in Norristown,Pa. where he spent his formative years. After attending Council Rock High School, he attended and graduated from Bucknell University in 1954. It was after college that he married his high school sweetheart, Yvonne Bucher, whom he shared 63 years of marriage before her death in Feb. 2017. Mason served in the United States Army from 1955-1957 at Fort Monmouth. His next position was at the Tobyhanna Army Depot where he spent 35 years of service starting as a stock controller, then being selected in 1970 as the Depots second (and youngest) Civilian Executive Assistant, the highest ranking civilian at this Installation. During his tenure, Tobyhanna Army Depot was the Northeastern Pennsylvanias largest employer with a workforce of about 4000. While employed at Tobyhanna, he earned an MBA in Management from the University of Scranton and was selected to attend the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Washington DC, 1973-1974. In 2016 during his later years, while living at Frederick Living Retirement Community, he was inducted into the United States Army Hall of Fame. An active citizen in the Pocono Mountains where he raised his family and lived for over 60 years, he was involved in the YMCA Youth program, a board member at PNC Bank, served on many Pocono Mountain historical committees and contributed greatly to his beloved church, Mount Pocono United Methodist Church where he was a member for over 55 years. Mason loved to work around his beautiful Pocono home where he always seemed to have a project to enhance the house or the landscape. An avid left handed golfer and a devoted Phillies and Eagles fan, Mason loved his sports. He never missed one of his sons sporting events or his daughters cheerleading events and was especially proud of all his childrens accomplishments. Relatives and friends will be received on Monday July 8 from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at Glenmoore United Methodist Church, 1920 Creek Road, Glenmoore, Pa., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be right after the service at Hopewell United Methodist church, 852 Hopewell Road, Downingtown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Masons name may be made to Mt. Pocono United Methodist Church, 12 Church Ave. Mount Pocono, Pa. 18344.
