Behringer, 84, of Macungie, passed away June 10, 2008, surrounded by her family in the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital. Born on Halloween, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Sallie (Reitenauer) Yorgey. After high school Elaine attended Allentown Business School and then was employed by Bell Telephone where she worked in management and public relations before retiring in 1978 after 25 years of service.
After retiring, she enjoyed her family, needlepoint, music and the daily cryptoquote. Elaine was a member of the Bell Pioneers and Grace U.C.C. of Allentown. Her family will miss her wit and sense of humor. Survivors: Her long time companion, Bert Winzer of Macungie; her daughter, Sally and husband William Getchell of Point Pleasant, Pa.; her son, Thomas N. Wehr and his wife Linda Rosato of Kempton; her granddaughters, Lynne and her husband David Heath, Cassandra and her husband Ed Brandecker of children, Doylestown; Tanner great and Miranda Heath, Ed, Jr. and Nicole Brandecker; her sister Jean Weidner of Bethlehem. Services: The service for Elaine will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Stephens Funeral Home Inc., 1335-37 Linden St., Allentown. Calling hour 9:30-10:30 am Monday.
