Charles R. Sprandel, 52, of Oakhurst, Center Valley R. 1, died last night at his home.
Born in Scranton, he was a son of Charles J. and Kathryn Sprandel, Scranton. A graduate of Scranton High School, he was an accomplished xylophone player, playing professionally in Scranton and vicinity and giving private lessons.
Employed by Wetherhold & Metzger, Allentown, he was active for many years in the shoe retailing business in Allentown.
He was a member of Friedenville United Church of Christ Church and was a former member of the church consistory.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Faye Tyson Sprandel; three sons, Tyson, Jesse and Fritz, all at home, and three sisters, Mrs. Edna Callaghan and Mrs. Helen Guy, both of Scranton, and Mrs. Florence Natishyn, Perth Amboy, N.J. Arrangements will be announced by the Daniel B. Snyder Funeral Home, Bethlehem.

His musical organization was known Chick Sprandel and his Snappy Entertainers and it appeared on program called the Sunshine. Club. Mr. Sprandel born in Scranton, son of Charles J. and Kathryn Sprandel. A graduate of Scranton schools, Mr. Sprandel was an accomplished xylophone player, appearing professionally in the Scranton area and giving private lessons. He was employed later by Wetherold & Metzger, a shoe firm in Allentown, and was active in the shoe retailing business for many years in that city. He was a member of Friedensville United Church of Christ and was a former member of then church addition to consistory. his parents, he is survived by his wife, Faye Tyson Sprandel; three sons, Tyson, Jesse and Fritz, at home, and three sisters, Mrs. Edna Callaghen and Mrs. Helen Guy, both of: Scranton, and Mrs. Florence Natishyn, of Perth Amboy, Funeral services will be Tuesday 1:30, P.M. at Snyder Funeral Home, 527 Center St., Bethlehem. Interment, Friedensville Cemetery. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 P.M. at the funeral home.
