2. Fact: He is not the Levi S. Bechtold who lived in the early 1900s near McConnell, Illinois who came from Lebanon County PA with his parents William W. Bechtold in 1858.

3. Census in 1860 in Jackson Twp., Lebanon, PA. ⁴ The 1860 census recorded in Jackson Township John Beckthold (sic), occupation stone quarrier, 47, living with wife Fanny, 48; Elizabeth, 21; Fanny, 14; John, 13; and son Simpson, 12. Also in the home was laborer John Kelner, 37. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office was Myerstown. John's real estate was valued at $1,100 and person estate $200.

4. Residence: Mortgage record in Shelby County, Illinois on 22 Jan 1876 in Windsor, Shelby, Illinois, United States. ⁵ On January 22, 1876, Simpson Bechtold, a resident of Shelby County, Illinois, and his wife Annie M. Bechtold executed a Mortgage Deed of Trust. In this transaction, Simpson used town property he owned in Windsor, Illinois\emdash specifically Lot 4, Block 18\emdash as collateral for a $500 loan from Charles Ostermeier and James A. Duncan. Robert Young served as the trustee. The document, which identifies the Bechtolds as the grantors of the title, was notarized by H. F. Smyser and officially recorded on September 30, 1876, in Shelby County (Deed Book 112, Page 112).
