Census in 1870 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA. ³ Mary Bucher, 63, occupation "supported in the family", is living with Elizabeth Weiser, 82, "widow keeping house" who has real estate valued at $8,000 and possessions worth $200. Also with them is Mary Malinda, 39, who has possessions worth $1,500. All three were born in Pennsylvania.

The previous household also has a M. M. Bucher, age 7, "in the family" and living with James Beard, 57, justice of the peace, and his wife Susan, 56, and son J.A., 21, carpenter. All were born in Pennsylvania, except the elder James was born in Ohio.

Since James Beard is the father of Esther Beard born 1835 who married John Weiser Bucher born 1835, and John Weiser had a daughter Mary Margaret born 1862, M. M. age 7 is this Mary Margaret.
