Bugher, occupation "commissioner of the city police," 35, was married for 8 years to Henrietta B., 36, who had birthed two children by 1910 living with them: Harry C., 14; and Frederick M., 7. The father and his parents were born in Ohio; the mother and her parents in Virginia; Harry in Ohio; and Frederick M. in New York. Also in the home is Francis Guthrie, the housekeeper with her three sons, plus her staff: two maids, a chambermaid, two cooks, a butler, and a seamstress.

2. Census in 1920 in Washington, District of Columbia, DC. ³ Living at 1609 K Street, Frederick H. Bugher, occupation "mining", 43, is living with Henrietta B., 45, and Frederick McLean, 18. The family refused to answer the questions about where they and their parents were born.

Also in the home are George S. Hill, 61, an 1870 immigrant from Quebec, Canada, occupation "newspaper correspondent," and the Bugher's three servants, three ladies in their 20's.

Living next door at 1601 K Street is Frederick's aunt Mildred Dewey [nee McLean], 69, widow of Rear Admiral George Dewey, her second marriage. She has four servants with her.
