Beecher of Point Loma, 81, a county resident since 1925, died yesterday in a hospital. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Point Loma Methodist Church, with the Merkley-Mitchell Mortuary in charge. Burial will be private. Contributions to La Jolla Cancer Research Foundation, 2945 Science Park, or the Point Loma church were suggested. Mrs. Beecher was born in Downey and taught school after graudation from the University of Southern California. After marrying the Rev. W. Clyde Beecher, a Methodist minister, she worked in many churches in this area, including La Mesa Methodist Church. She was the recipient of two honorary life memberships in the Women's Society of Christian Service. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Mary K.
