Christmas Day will have more than usual significance this year for Mr. and Mrs. Grant Beecher, 1125 N. Courtland Ave., for it will marke the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage. The ceremony took place Dec 25, 1901 at Anderson, Ind.
Celebration of the event will not be held until the following Sunday, Dec. 30, when an open house for the couple will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Main Street Christian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Beecher have been active members of the church throughout their residence in this city. For 26 years Mrs. Beecher was the teacher of the Beecher class of the Sunday School.
Mr. Beecher who is a native of Miami county is 81 years old. His wife, the former Miss Lynnie Thompson, who is 79, was born at Columbus, Ind.
For 42 years Mr. Beecher was a railroad employee, retiring in 1948. He came to Kokomo in 1912 to take the position of ticket agent at the local station of the Nickel Plate Road, a post he held at the time he retired.
Mr. and Mrs. Beecher are the parents of two children, Kent of Kokomo and Brazier of Wyandotte, Mich. There are four grandchildren.

13. Obituary: Kokomo Tribune: Obituary of Mrs. Grant Beecher on 29 Oct 1954 in Kokomo, Howard, IN. 5 Ethelyn M. Beecher, 82, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday in the St. Joseph Hospital after several years of ill health. Her condition became critical Wednesday morning and she was taken to the hospital. She had lived at 1125 N. Courtland Ave., since April, 1917.
The deceased was born Aug. 9, 1872, at Burlingame, Kan., daughter of William J. and Celesta Jane near Columbus, Ind., when a young girl.
She has been a member of the Christian Church since she was 11. She was a member of the choir at Columbus and a teach er of the Beecher Sunday School class of the Main St. Christian Church for 26 years.
She met Grant Beecher when he was a student at Indiana University and they were married Christmas day, 1901.
Surviving are the husband and two sons, Kent Beecher, Kokomo, and Brazier Beecher, Wyandotte, Mich.; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Elva Wilson, South Bend. One brother and one sister are deceased.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fenn Funeral Home, with the Rev. H. Randel Lookabill officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Ind. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.

14. Obituary: Pharos-Tribune: Mrs. Beecher Dies on 30 Oct 1954 in Logansport, Cass, IN. 6 PERU, Ind. - Rites for Mrs. Ethelyn Beecher, 82, Kokomo, who died at St. Joseph's hospital in Kokomo Thursday, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Fenn mortuary there. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery at Mexico.
