7. Obituary: Reading Eagle: obituary of Mrs. Lydia Endy on 31 Oct 1916 in Reading, Berks, PA. 3 Following an illness of three weeks, Lydia, widow of Reuben H. Endy, died of apoplexy at 8:25 a. m. today. at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Hannah Stover, 853 Church street, aged 80 years. She was bedfast since last Saturday. Mrs. Endy was a native of Bern township. She was a daughter of the late George W. and Mary (nee Leinbach) Beachert. The last 41 years she spent in this city. Her husband died 15 years ago. She was one of the oldest living members of Schwarzwald Reformed Church, and was the last of her family. There remain five children, Mrs. Stover, with whom she lived; Mrs. Mary Beadencup, Mrs. Alice Heinly, Oliver and John, all of Reading; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Services were held in Schwarzwald Church over the remains of Lydia, widow of Reuben H. Endy, whose funeral was held from her residence, 353 Church street. Rev. Elam J. Snyder officiated. The remains were attired in a black silk dress and rested in a square-cornered black broadcloth-covered casket with silver extension handles, silver trimmings and plate bearing name and age. Undertaker Seidel had charge of the interment, which was made in the church cemetery.
