Subhead: Esteemed City Woman Stricken Saturday Evening at Home on Race Street - Spent Afternoon at Opera House

Fatally stricken after returning form a theatre matinee Saturday afternoon, Mrs. Jennie Mae Bucher, wife of Samuel P. Bucher, and a highly esteemed resident of the city, died at her home, 341 Race street at 5:30 Saturday evening.

She had been at the Chestnut street theatre, and on entering the house removed her coat and was walking form the dining room to the kitchen to prepare the evening meal, when she collapsed to the floor and expired within a few minutes. The family physician was summoned, but she was dead before he arrived. It was determined that a heart attack had caused her death. She had suffered from a heart condition for several years.

Mrs. Bucher was a member of a well known local family, and was engaged from time to time at the Aldine hotel.

Her death came as a distinct shock to members of the family and a legion of friends who held her in the highest regard. She was a loving mother and a kind neighbor. She spent her entire lifetime in this city and was widely known.

The deceased was aged 58 years. She was born in this city on June 15, 1874, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henninger. Her mother, Mrs. Alverta Henninger, lies at the point of death at the home of her son, David, at Third and Linden streets and has not been informed of her daughter's sudden death. Mr. Henninger died a number of years ago.

Surviving are her husband, her mother and one son, C. E. of 239 Pine street. The following sisters and brother also survive: Mrs. Edna Whalen of 1102 Miller street; Mrs. Maude E. Bottomstone, who lives at the M. W. Trimble residence on East Market street and David Henninger of Third and Linden streets.

Funeral services over the remains will be held from Dornsife's funeral parlors on Chestnut street tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. A. G. VanElden, rector of St. Matthews Episcopal church officiating. Interment will be made in the Sunbury cemetery. The deceased was a former member of the Methodist church.
