Diehl on 2 Sep 1903 in Allentown, Lehigh, PA. 5 DEATH OF A FORMER LEHIGH COUNTIAN IN LYCOMING COUNTY. -- Henry A. Diehl, a former resident of Lehigh county, died at Montoursville, Lycoming county, on Sunday last, after a week's illness with typhoid fever, aged 34 years. He was born in Lowhill township, and was a son of the late Solomon Diehl and wife Sarah, nee George. HIs father preceeded him in death twelve years ago. He is survived by his wife, a born Hanner, and two daughters, his aged mother, and the following brothers and sisters: Milton J., William B., Thompson R., Isadore S., Alexander, Daniel A., (a twin brother of the deceased,) Clinton G. and Mrs. E. Henry Knerr, all of this city, Charles F., of Quakertown, and Mrs. O. J. Kneadler, of Alburtis. His mother and brother Isadore left on Saturday with the 4.29 train and reached his sick bed a short time before he died. His widow and oldest daughter are stricken with the same disease, and the widow is in a critical condition. 7. Newspaper: Allentown Leader: funeral of Henry A. No services were held at the house on account of the sickness of his wife and child. There were two clergymen, Rev. Mr. Dunlap and a Methodist minister. The following attended the funeral: Mrs. Sarah Diehl, the mother; Milton J. Diehl, wife and daughter, William B. Diehl and wife and son Albert, Alexander Diehl, Thompson Diehl, Isadore Diehl, Daniel Diehl, Clinton G. Diehl, Mrs. E. H. Knerr of Allentown, Mrs. J. Knedler of Alburtis, and Charles F. Diehl of Quakertown. Henry married Mary Catherine Hanner about 1893 in , Lycoming, PA. (Mary Catherine Hanner was born on 29 Aug 1867 in Montoursville, Lycoming, PA,6 died on 5 Dec 1943 in Montoursville, Lycoming, PA and was buried on 8 Dec 1943 in Montoursville: Edgewood Cemetery, Lycoming, PA 8.) |
