Census in 1850 in Lowhill Twp., Lehigh, PA. ⁵ The 1850 census recorded Jacob George, farmer, 68, living with wife Lydia, 50; son Reuben, laborer, 31; Daniel, laborer, 17; Sarah, 24; Elizabeth, 20; Elimina, 15; Jemina, 13; and Lydia, 10. In the left column is written "Hotel". Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.
Next door is Eli George, huckster, 29, with wife Melinda, 30; and daughters Lenia, 2, and Cathenes, 8 months.

2. Book: Anniversary History Of Lehigh County, Volume II, 1914. ^{3 4}
Daniel George, son of Jacob George, was born March 6, 1832. After reaching manhood he conducted the following hotels in the order named: Siegersville, Wescoesville, Snydersville (Hillside), Seiberlingsville and Seipstown. From 1892 to 1900 he followed farming near East Texas and also near Fogelsville. He and family were Reformed members of Morgenland Church.

Daniel George married (first) Sarah A. Stettler. Issue: Richard T.; Joseph; Daniel M.; Myron E. and William, who died in childhood.

Daniel George, married (second) Alice Merkel, daughter of Jacob Merkel. Issue: Katie; Milton; John B.; Harvey C.; and Clarence J. George.

Daniel married Sarah A. Stettler. (Sarah A. Stettler was born on 8 Mar 1836,³ died on 8 Jan 1874 in Lowhill Twp., Lehigh, PA ³ and was buried in Leather Corner Post: Morgenland Church Cemetery, Lehigh, PA ³.)

Daniel next married Alice Merkel, daughter of Jacob Merkel and Unknown.
