1. Obituary: Wellsboro Agitator: Death of Charles Leroy Eaton on 11 Feb 1925 in Wellsboro, Tioga, PA. ^{1 2} Charles LeRoy Eaton died at his home in Post Creek, N. Y., at 8:30 p. m. on February 6. He was born in Tioga, 81 years ago, the son of Nathaniel and Betsy Stonebrook Eaton. In 1867 he removed to Post Creek. In 1868 he married Sophia C. Bucher, of Post Creek, who died June 9, 1918. Mr. Eaton was a civil war veteran, having served for ten months in the 136th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company A. Upon his return from the war he took up his residence in Post Creek, where he was first a lumberman, and then a farmer. He is survived by one daughter, Miss Edna Eaton of Post Creek, and three sons, Samuel, of Rochester, and Nathaniel and Glen, or Corning, and seven grandchildren.

Charles married Sophia C. Bucher, daughter of Samuel Bucher and Nancy Cogswell, in 1868 in , Chemung, NY.¹ (Sophia C.
