1. Obituary: Star and Sentinel on 9 Aug 1941 in Gettysburg, Adams, PA. 3 Mrs. Mary E. Bucher, 71, wife of Harry A. Bucher, died at her home in Cashtown at 7:10 Tuesday morning. Death was caused by heart trouble.
Mrs. Bucher had recovered from a heart attack that occurred three years ago, but during the last ten months she had been confined to her home by illness.
A daughter of the late Moses C. and Lydia (Shaffer) Benner, the deceased was born and always resided in the county.
Mrs. Bucher was a school teacher for 28 years in Adams County. She taught 17 years in Mr. Joy and Mt. Pleasant Townships and the other 11 years were spent as a teacher at Meade school in Gettysburg. Mrs. Bucher was married on March 22, 1919, and had resided in Cashtown ever since. She was an active member of the Marsh Creek Church of the Brethren.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Anna Sheely, Gettysburg; Mrs. Flora Babylon, Baltimore; J. Milton Benner, Gettysburg RD; Jesse E. Benner, Lancaster, Miss Emma K Benner and Miss L. Blanche Benner, both of Gettysburg RD; Mrs. J. Willis Appler, Lemoyne; Mrs. William Webster, Philadelphia; Mrs. Carrie Butt, Media, and George H. Benner, Lee, Illinois.
Funeral services from the Bender funeral home Friday morning at 10:00, with the Rev. G W Group and the Rev. George H Berkheimer officiating. Interment in Flohr's Cemetery.


Mary married Harry Alexander Bucher, son of Adam Franklin Bucher and Susann Elizabeth Settle, on 22 Mar 1919 in , Adams, PA. (Harry Alexander Bucher was born on 29 Aug 1870 in Franklin Twp., Adams, PA,1 died on 26 Apr 1947 in Cashtown, Adams, PA 1 2 and was buried in McKnightstown: Flohr's Lutheran Church, Adams, PA 1.)
