Born on December 2, 1904 in Reading, he was the son of the late John and Wilhelmina (Benzel) Weidner and had lived in the Poconos for the past twenty-three years moving here from Elizabeth, N.J. He had worked as a civil engineer for Sandoz Pharmaceutical in East Hanover, N.J.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Tannersville and a 50 year member of the Pocono Lodge 780 F&AM, Cresco.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Colleen W. Marr of Tobyhanna; Mary DiGiovanni of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Constance Ilsley of Bateman's Bay, N.S.W. Australia; a step daughter, Deanna Bozek of Randolph, N.J.; a sister, Dorothy Hauptman of Shillington; fourteen grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary B. Weidner in 1980; a brother, Earl Weidner and a sister, Viola Weidner.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fish Hill Road, Tannersville, with Rev. Thomas E. Richards Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Pike County.
