Census in 1860 in Earl Twp., Lancaster, PA. 11 In the 1860 Census in Earl Township in Lancaster County, post office New Holland, we find the household of John Bowman, age 45, day laborer, living with with Maria, 35; son Samuel, 3; John, 7; and Lucetta, 9. (In the census John and Lucetta are listed as Bowman but in reality were born when Maria was married to Isaac Bicher.) Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. John owns no real estate; his possessions are worth $600.
On the previous census page is Henry Moyer, age 40 and his wife Mary, 39 and their family. Henry is likely Maria's brother as her maiden name was Moyer.

2. Census in 1870 in Earl Twp., Lancaster, PA. 12 The 1870 census recorded Lucetta Beacher, domestic servant, 16, living in the household of Jonas Pfautz, farmer, 36, and his wife Elizabeth, 32, and their children. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office was New Holland.

3. Census in 1880 in Voganville, Lancaster, PA, USA. 13 The 1880 census recorded Maria Bowman, widowed, 51, living with her daughter, Lucetta Curley, 26; and grandchildren: Annie Curley, 6; Ida Curley, 4; Walter Curley, 2; and Lillie Curley, 1. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Census in 1900 in West Earl Twp., Lancaster, PA. 14 The 1900 census recorded John Curley, inn keeper, 51, bor Apr 1849, living with wife Lucetta, 47, Dec 1853; Lillie, 21, Apr 1879; John, 13, Jan 1887; Nettie, 10, Apr 1890; Leroy, 8, Sep 1892; and Stella, 4, Apr 1896. Also in the home: grandson Charley Yohn, 1, Jul 1899; and mother Mariah Bowman, widowed, 75, Mar 1825. Mariah had given birth to 8 children and 2 were alive in 1900. Lucetta had been married for 27 years and given birth to 10 children, 9 alive in 1900. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

6. Obituary: Reading Times: obituary of Lucetta Curley on 20 Nov 1928 in Reading, Berks, Pennsylvania, USA. 10 MRS. LUCETTA CURLEY, 75, died at 1.45 a. m. Saturday at the home of her daughter, Anna, at Blue Ball, Lancaster county. She was a former resident of Ephrata and was a member of the Reformed church there. Besides her husband, John, she leaves these children: Harry and Chester, of Reading; John, Shillington; Leroy, Ephrata; Annie, Blue Ball; Lillie, Lancaster; Nettie, Allentown;. Dora, of Ephrata; 27 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The funeral will take place Tuesday at 10 a. m. from the home of Mrs. William Yohn, Blue Ball, with further services and interment at Mechanicsburg.


Lucetta married John Curley, son of Leonard Curley and Mary Ann McCarty. (John Curley was born on 26 Apr 1849 in East Cocalico Twp., Lancaster, PA,14 15 16 17 died on 4 Sep 1932 in West Reading, Berks, PA 15 16 18 and was buried on 8 Sep 1932 in Leola: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Lancaster, PA 15 16.)
