Also in the home: William Culbertson, brick mason, 43; Nicholas Jigin, 35; and Jennie Lynn, 6. Everyone was born in Ohio except Lydia, Hiram and William Miley in Pennsylvania; Culbertson in Ireland; and Jigin in Switzerland.

Mrs. Rohame Meily DeProsse from Pioneer Family

Mrs. Rohame Meily DeProsse, 94, died in the home of a great niece, Mrs. Edwin P. King of 192 Barnhart street, at 2:50 p. m. yesterday following an illness of a week.

Born June 16, 1851, in Marion, she was a daughter of William and Lydia Beicher Meily, natives of Lebanon, Pa. The house in which she was born stood on Main street approximately at the place where the Thrift market is now located. She was married in Columbus to Prof. Angelo DeProsse, instructor in music at Ohio Wesleyan university, Delaware, and lived 45 years in Norwich, Conn., before coming back to Marion 15 years ago. Her husband preceded her in death a number of years ago. Until a year ago she lived here with a niece, Mrs. Grace Hoberman, who preceded her in death last year. She was a member of the Congregational church at Norwich.

Surviving are a nephew, Charles Meily of Peoria, Ill., 32 great nephews and nieces including Mrs. King in whose home she died, 32 great great nephews and nieces and 16 great-great-great nephews and nieces. She was the youngest and last of a family of 13 children.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p. m. in the Merle H. Hughes mortuary on Mt. Vernon avenue by Rev. L. V. Bauguess, pastor of Forest Lawn Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Marion cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.


Rohame married Angelo M. DeProsse on 4 Dec 1868 in Columbus, Franklin, OH.1 The marriage ended in divorce before 1880. (Angelo M. DeProsse was born on 21 Apr 1843 in Munich, , BY, DEU.)
