8. Obituary: Gazette and Daily: Mrs. John E. Gable, Wife of Stereotyper, Dies After Long Illness on 14 Jan 1954 in York, York, PA. ⁴ Mrs. Alice Rebecca Gable, wife of John E. Gable, 819 Hill street, died at 11:35 p.m. yesterday at her home after a lingering illness. She was 55. Mr. Gable is stereotype foreman at The Gazette and Daily.
Survivors besides her husband include a brother, Edward S. Beecher, Spring Grove RD 1; five sisters, Mrs. Alverta Kraft, Spring Grove RD 3; Mrs. George Hoffman, Hanover; Mrs. Sherman Ruth, York RD; Mrs. C. R. Berkheimer, York RD 6; and Mrs. William Boyer, 2004 Orange street; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her pastor, Rev. Dr. Gerald G. Neely, of Christ Lutheran church, will conduct funeral services at 10 a. m. Saturday at the Edward W. Baumeister Colonial mortuary, Queen and Jackson streets. Burial will be in Mt. Rose cemetery.
