At Thomasville Home
----
Spring Grove, Jan. 8 -- Mrs. Alice Lavina Beecher, wife of Edward Beecher, of Spring Grove R. D. 2, died suddenly as a result of a coronary embolism about 8 o'clock tonight. Mrs. Beecher, aged 67, was stricken at the home of her daughter's parents-in-law, mr. and Mrs. Michael Myers, Thomasville, while helping to prepare a quarter of a beef for butchering.
Mr. and Mrs. Beecher, and their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Myers, who reside with them, had gone to the Myers home at Thomasville early this evening to help "work up" the quarter of beef for the butchering to have been held Tuesday. About 8 p. m., Mrs. Beecher suddenly threw up her hands, and saying, "Oh, my, I feel funny," collapsed on the floor of the basement, where the work was being done. Her husband, her son-in-law and daughter and the elder Mr. and Mrs. Myers, all of whom were working nearby, carried her outside and tried to revive her. Dr. W. D. Danner, of this place, was called. Upon his arrival he declared that death had already occurred. He called Coroner L. U. Zech, who issued the death certificate, giving a cornoary embolism, as the cause of death.
Besides her husband, the following survive: Seven children, Mrs. Sherman Ruth, West York; Mrs. Clarence Berkheimer, West York; Mrs. Ira Kraft, Porters Sideling; Mrs. George Hoffman, Hanover; Mrs. John Gable, York; Mrs. Ralph Myers, at home; and Edward Beecher, New Port, Pa.; two sisters, Romaine and Emma Stambaugh, Spring Grove; and one brother, Albert Stambaugh, Bushnell, Illinois.
The body was brought from the Myers home by Funeral Director Carl. H. Shaffer to his funeral establishment at this place for preparation for burial. It will be taken to the Beecher home Tuesday. Complete funeral arrangements had not been made tonight.
