Zitkus, 514 East Mount Vernon street, Shenandoah, died on arrival Sunday at Locust Mountain Hospital. He had attended the funeral of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Anna Neumeister, on Saturday.
Born in Shenandoah, son of the late George and Agnes Zitkus, he wa a retired miner and worked last at Knickerbocker Colliery. He was a member of St. George's Church, the UMWA and Shenandoah Fish and Game Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mae (Beacher), a son Albert Zitkus, Shenandoah; one daughter, Mary, wife of Richard Whitman in California; a brother, Andrew Zitkus, Lebanon; a sister, Nellie, wife of Julius Stremba Sr., Shenandoah; three grandchildren.
Funeral Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the Oravitz Home for Funerals, Solemn Requiem Mass 9 a.m. in St. George's Church. Burial parsh cemetery. Viewing Wednesday 2 to 10 p.m.
