1. Obituary: Thomas O. Bucher, 76, of 727 17th St., (Greeley, CO.) died Monday, January 2, 1961 at the Weld County Nursing Home. He homesteaded south of Keota in 1908 and lived in that community until moving to Greeley in 1959. Mr. Bucher was born June 2, 1994, at Gravity, Iowa. He and the former Sadie Conley were married November 26, 1913, in Greeley. They moved to the town of Keota in 1919 and Mr. Bucher was custodian of the school for 31 years. He also was engaged in carpentry work. He was a member of the First Christian Churchof New Raymer. Besides his wife, Mr. Bucher is survived by four children, Thomas M. of Keota, L.D. Bucher of Newton, Kansas, Mrs Zella Joyce of Lramie, Wyoming., and Ortis Bucher of Sidney, Neb., 15 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Maude Buchannan of Lenox, Iowa, Mrs Eva Jewel, Mrs Opha Edwards and Mrs. Lucy Miller, all of Webb City, Mo. from Adamson Memorial Chapel, in charge of Rev Gertrude M. Horn. Pallbearers were: Oscar Olsen, William Benner, George Owens, Harry Benner, James Hickman, William Rohn.

2. Census in 1900 in Washington Twp., Taylor, IA. ³ Thomas W. Bucher, no occupation listed, 60, born Apr 1840, was living with wife Lucinda K., 57, Jul 1842. She had been married for 36 years and birthed 11 children, 10 alive in 1900. Living with them: Virginia E., school teacher, 31, Oct 1868; Minnie B., servant, 24, Jun 1876; Lucy I., servant, 23, Mar 1877; Maude L., 21, Mar 1879; Eva A., 18, Jun 1881; Thomas O., 15, Jun 1884; Opha M, 13, May 1887. Thomas, Lucinda, Virginia, Minnie, and Lucy were born in Ohio; Maude and Eva in Kansas; and Thomas and Opha in Iowa. Thomas' parents were born in "unknown" and Lucinda's father was born in Ohio and mother in New Jersey.

Next door is Thomas' son Odbert Bucher, carpenter, 35, born Jan 1865 in Ohio; and his wife Sarah A., 29, born Aug 1870 in Kentucky of parents from same. She had birthed no children by 1900.

Thomas married Sadie Conley on 26 Nov 1913 in Greeley, Weld, CO.¹ (Sadie Conley was born on 3 Jul 1893 in Willow Twp., Cherokee, IA and died on 14 Dec 1969 in Greeley, Weld, CO.)
