Beecher, 32, merchant, was living with wife Maria, 23; Clara E., 5; Cora E., 3; Harriet, 10; John, 19, merchants clerk. Samuel's real estate was valued at $3,300, his personal estate at $7,000. 2. Census in 1870 in Nelson Twp., Portage, OH. 2 John Beecher, 29, farmer, was living with wife Adda, 25. Also in the home was Sarah Miller, 63. [She could be John's mother in law?] Fannie Johnson, 17, domestic, born in England, was with them. John was born in Ohio, his wife and Sarah in Maryland. His real estate was worth $10,000 and personal estate $4,000, indicating he had inherited wealth since his 1860 census. John married Adda. (Adda was born about 1845 in La Plata, Charles, MD 2.) |
