To this union four children were born, Mrs. Beecher of Arkansas City (deceased), Mrs. Neal of Monmouth, Oregon, Mrs. Duncan of Mantsca, Cal., and Walter S. Pickering of Guthrie, Okla. He united with the Masonic order at Bardolph, Ill., in 1872. He came to Arkansas City in 1879 and had resided here until three years ago when, losing his companion, he went to Guthrie and made his home with his son, W. S. PIckering.
