1. Newspaper: Arkansas City Daily Traveler - Married Sadie Pickering and Geo. Beecher, 2 Aug 1887, Arkansas City, Cowley, KS. 2 Married. Last evening, at the residence of the bride's parents, Miss Sadie Pickering and Geo. A. Beecher, by Rev. W. H. Cline. The ceremony was performed at 8 o'clock in the presence of a number of invited guests. After the festivities the newly married couple repaired to their home in the Second ward, which Mr. Beecher had fitted up as a place of residence.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Pickering, and the groom one of the enterprising proprietors of the West Fifth Avenue jewelry store. The Republican-Traveler congratulations to the new couple.

2. Census in 1895 in Arkansas City, Cowley, KS. 3 Peter Beecher, 63, was with Elizabeth, 69; Emma, 31; and S. May Bell, 20. Peter was born in Pennsylvania, Elizabeth in Ohio, and the others in Indiana. Everyone's occupation was farmer and all came to Kansas from Iowa.

Next door is G. A. Beecher, 40; Sadie P., 33; Carl A., 5; and Maggie, 2. G.A. was born in Ohio, Sadie in Illinois, and the children in Kansas. G.A. was a carpenter who came from Iowa. Sadie came to Kansas from New Mexico.

The post office Arkansas City. The township is Bolton.

3. Census in 1900 in Bolton Twp., Cowley, KS. 1 George Beecher, farmer, 45, born Jan 1855, was married for 13 years to wife Sadie, 38, Sept 1863. She has birthed two children, both alive in 1900: Carl A., 10, Oct 1889; and Maggie, 8, Apr 1892. George and his mother was born in Ohio, his father in Pennsylvania. Sadie was born in Illinois, her father in Ohio and mother in Indiana. The children were born in Kansas.

Living next door is George's father, Peter Beecher, farmer, widowed, 68, born Oct 1831 in Pennsylvania where his parents were born. He is with his daughter, Emma A., 36, born Feb 1864 in Indiana. Her mother was from Ohio.

4. Census in 1910 in Valverde Township, Sumner, KS. 7 The 1910 census recorded George A. Beecher, house carpenter, 55, living with wife Sadie P., 48; Carl A., farmer, 20; and Maggie, 17. George and Sadie were married for 22 years and had birthed 2 children by 1910. George and his mother were born in Ohio, and his father in Pennsylvania. Sadie as born in Illinois, her father in Ohio, and mother in Indiana. Carl and Maggie were born in Kansas, their father in Ohio and mother in Illinois.

J. C. Pickering, heretofore of Ashton, has engaged in business in this city. He and his daughter, Mrs. Beecher, have purchased the grocery stock formerly owned by Chas. McIntire. The store is located in the 400 block on North Second street and is patronized by Fourth warders. This firm already possesses many friends and a wide acquaintance here and his little store is bound to flourish and do its share of business.

Wife of Geo. A. Beecher, Contractor And Builder Here
Mrs. Sadie Beecher, wife of George A. Beecher, contractor and builder, residing at 523 North Third street, and a resident of this city for many years, died at their family home last night about 10 oclock after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Beecher was fifty-seven years of age. The deceased Is survived by the husband and one daughter, Miss Maggie Beecher, a teacher in our public schools. Mrs. Beecher has a very large circle of friends, and she will be sadly missed in the community as well as the home, where sorrow prevails on account of her untimely death. The funeral service will be conducted at the Methodist church tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 by Rev. Moore, pastor, and Interment will be made at Riverview cemetery. The Beecher family has resided in this city for a number of years and are among our most highly esteemed folk. Mrs. Beecher was a member of the Methodist church and waS highly esteemed by all who knew her.
