6. Obituary: The Daily Item on 4 Jan 1974 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA. 4 PHILADELPHIA - A funeral service was conducted today at 1 p.m. in Philadelphia for Clarence J. Bucher, 75, a former resident of Watsontown. Mr. Bucher died Tuesday at 8 p.m. in a Philadelphia nursing home. He had been a guest at the home for about seven years. Mr. Bucher was born in New York State on Oct. 31, 1898, the son of the late Harvey J. and Rebecca E. Dry Bucher of Watsontown. Survivors include his widow, the former Amelia DeGeorge of Philadelphia, and two sons, Richard D. of Allenwood RD and C. Russell of Burton, S.C. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. George Sudol and Mrs. Homer Houston of Watsontown, a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A son, Joseph "Rock" Bucher, died during the 1972 flood of a heart attack.
