SHAMOKIN -- Gerald C. Wetzel, 51, of Shamokin RD1, died Tuesday in an accident in Trevorton.
Born in Lavelle, Dec 21, 1937, he was a son of Virginia (Welker) Wetzel, Lavelle, and the late Carlos Wetzel.
Mr. Wetzel was a member of St. Paul's Chapel of Gordon Christ United Lutheran Church and was last employed at North American Rockwell Co., Reading. He attended the Ashland schools.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ruthann Beacher, the following children, Mrs. Cheryl Petrowsky of Girardville, Mrs. Cindy Price of Gowen City, Gail of Shamokin, Wendy of Lancaster and Mrs. Dawn Paczkowski and Gerald, both of Shamokin; three stepchildren, Jeffrey Blasius of Shamokin, Mark Blasius of Selinsgrove and Mrs. Carl Graehling of Harrisburg; one brother, Donald of Lavelle; and nine grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted in Ashland.

Gerald married Ruthann Louise Beacher, daughter of Harold Lloyd Beacher and Berneda Elaine Purcell, on 27 Dec 1986. (Ruthann Louise Beacher was born on 4 Feb 1942 in Pottsville: Deiner's Hill, Schuylkill, PA ¹.)
