Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Henry and Alice (Weist) Wetzel.

He was a graduate of Ashland High School. Mr. Wetzel was a veteran of World War II. He was employed as a miner all of his life.

He was a member of the Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Barry Township, Lavelle AMVETS, Lavelle Fire Company and Ashland Senior Citizens.

Surviving are his wife, the former Virginia Welker; two sons, Jerald, of Trevorton, and Donald, of Lavelle; two brothers, Ralph, of Levittown, and David, of Lansdale; four sisters, Josephine Lynch of New Jersey, Rose Horbach, of Lansdowne, Mary Jean Selinsky, of Alabama, and Janet Wetzel, of California; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday morning at the convenience of the family from the Frederick T Kull Funeral Home Inc, Ashland. The Rev Robert Long, pastor of Bethany ECC will officiate. Interment will be in Brock Cemetery, Ashland.

Carlos married Virginia M. Welker. (Virginia M. Welker was born on 15 Feb 1918 in Lavelle, Schuylkill, PA,⁴ died on 24 Oct 2013 in Coal Twp., Northumberland, PA ⁴ and was buried in Ashland: Brock Cemetery, Schuylkill, PA, USA ⁴.)
