Mr. and Mrs. George A. Wagman of Dallastown, Pa., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Susan Cecilia Wagman, to Mr. Henry Jacoby Beecher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Beecher, of Manchester, Pa. Miss Wagman attended Barry College, Miami, Fla., and the College of William and Mary, Richmond, Va. Mr. Beecher, who was graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1948, served with the U. S. Army for three years.

Wagman, 428 East Main street, and Henry Jacoby Beecher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Beecher, Manchester, were united in marriage last Saturday morning in the rectory of St. Joseph's Catholic church.
Rev. Joseph L. Browne, pastor, performed the single ring ceremony.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore an invory satin gown with fitted bodice buttoned down the back and with a scalloped neckline. Her hooped skirt opened in a cascade of Chantilly lace ruffles and ended in a short train. Her finger-tip length mantilla veil of matching Chantilly lace was fastened with orange blossoms.
Mrs. Robert J. Klunk, 416 South Pleasant avenue, was her sister's only attendant. She wore a Victorian style, purple velvet gown with a portrait neckline and peneled back giving the effect of a train. Her flowers were orchids on a white ermine muff.
The bride's mother chose an olive-green dress with black accessories and the bridegroom's mother chose a gray crepe dress with black accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of orchids.
David Lory Beecher was his brother's best man. Mrs. Mary Louise Waltersdorf Koenig, York soloist, sang "Ich Liebe Dich" (Greig), "My Hero" and "L'Amour Tourjour." Music was furnished by Bernard Hochberger and his orchestra.
A wedding breakfast was held in Hotel Yorktowne, York. After a wedding trip in New York city the couple will reside in their new home in Manchester.
The bride is a graduate of Barry college, Miami, Fla., and of the division of the College of William and Mary which is located in Richmond, Va.
The bridegroom was graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1948. He is now a partner with his parents in the firm of Katherine Beecher, Manchester.

8. Obituary: York Dispatch: obituary of Susan Wagman Beecher Glatfelter on 12 Dec 2017 in York, York, PA. ⁸ Susan C. (Wagman) Beecher, Glatfelter, 95, peacefully entered into rest Friday December 8, 2017 at County Meadows in Leader Heights. She was the wife of Arthur J. Glatfelter, Jr., who predeceased her on February 14, 2013.
Guided by her deep faith in God, she was a loving wife and mother to the day of her passing and onto eternity.
Susan was a true matriarch of her family wanting nothing for herself but only the best for others. To truly know her was to love her as were the many lives she touched throughout the wonderful joyous time she spent on this earth. Her memories will be forever missed but carried deep within the hearts of her loved ones she leaves behind.
Susan was born in Dallastown July 31,1922 into the family of George A. Wagman and Susan C.(Baker) Wagman. She thrived in the love of her siblings, Margaret Smith, Theresa Frick, Rosemary Shedrick, Ann Shorb, Veronica Kurtulis, Virginia Klunk, Gloria Wagman, Francis Wagman, George Wagman, and Edward Wagman, all whom she will be reunited with in heaven now.
Susan graduated from York Catholic High School and then continued studies at Barry University, FL and William & Mary College, VA. She was active in The Catholic Women's Club, York Garden Club, Historical Society, Junior Service League, and many other charities. She applied her kindness and tasteful social skills to a position at the York College of PA which she retired from after twenty years of much enjoyed service.
Susan is survived by her children, Stephen L. Beecher and wife, Lisa, Middlebrook, VA, Katharine B. Detwiler (Beecher) and husband, David, York, Jonathan L. Beecher and wife, Mary Beth, York, Victoria A.Godfrey (Beecher) and husband, Stephen, Swoope, VA. She delighted in nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation w/o viewing will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 15 at the West York location of Keffer Funeral Home, Inc. 2114 W. Market St. A memorial mass will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 16 at St. Mary's Church, 309 S. George. A private burial will be conducted by the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, Alzheimer's Association, Catholic Women's Club Scholarship Fund, American Heart Assoc.
