Isabelle, widow of William Beecroft, of No. 301 West Cherry street, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bella Spencer, at Hazleton, at eight o'clock this morning.
Three days before Christmas, in December last, Mrs.Beecroft went to Hazleton to visit her daughter. December 26th while on the way to the station, to make the return trip, she slipped and fell, injuring her spine. She was removed to the home of her daughter and later to the Hazleton hospital where it was considered inadvisable to operate on account of her age. She was a patient at the institution for three days and then removed to the home of her daughter where she had been bedfast ever since, gangrene later developing.
The deceased was one of the oldest and best known residents of town, having resided on West Cherry street for many years. She was 73 years old.
Four sons, Robert, William, Joseph and Harry, of town, and three daughters, Mrs. Bella Spencer, of Hazleton, and Mary and Emma, of Harrisburg, Illinois, survive. The funeral will take place from the home of her daughter, the time to be announced later.
