Snyder, Sr., Holly Springs, and Kirby Lee Sheaffer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy W. Sheaffer, Mt. Holly Springs, were married at 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 15, 1963 in the Mt. Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church. The Rev. John Loewen, pastor of the church, performed the double ring ceremony. Richard Kramer, Chambersburg, cousin of the bride, was the soloist. Mrs. John Baughman, Chambersburg, also a cousin of the bnde, was the organist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of rayon peau de soie and chantilly lace which featured a controlled skirt accented with cabbage roses and ending in a cathedral train. The bodice was fashioned with a basque waist, scooped neckline and long sleeves. Her bouffant veil of French illusion was held by a lace and seed pearl headpiece. She carried a lace-covered white bible marked with a white orchid. Miss Nikki Ann Snyder was her sister's maid of honor. The brides maids were Miss Ruth Sheaffer, Mt. Holly Springs, sister of the bridegroom; Mrs. Richard Leiter, Mt. Holly Springs, and Mrs. Elmer Fraker, RD5. The attendants wore floor-length gowns of royal blue taffeta fashioned with sabrina necklines. three-quarter-length, sleeves and bell skirts featuring a watteau train. Their bouffant face veils were attached to flower and crystal headpieces. Michele Hubley, York, was the flower girl. She wore a light blue street-length dress with white accessories and carried a white basket of cut flowers. Ricky Alan Snyder, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer. The bride's mother wore a navy blue sheath dress with matching accessories. The bridegroom' s mother wore a beige sheath dress with brown accessories. Marshall Lebo, 424 West Louther Street, was the best man, The ushers were Elmer Fraker, RD5; Richard E. Snyder, Jr., and Marlin R. Snyder, Mt. Holly Springs, brothers of the bnde. Following a reception for guests at the Indian Motor Inn, the couple left for the Poconos and New York City on a wedding trip.The bride was graduated from South Middleton Township High School in 1961 and is employed in the office of the G. R. Kinney Corp., West Louther Street. The bridegroom was graduated from South Middleton Township High School in 1960. He is an airman third class attached to the George Air Force Base in California. Early next month he will leave for four months duty in Spain after which his bride will join him in California.

8. Obituary: Hoffman Funeral Home: obituary of Kirby Lee Sheaffer on 6 May 2022 in Carlisle, Cumberland, PA. 3 On Friday May 6th, 2022, Kirby Lee Sheaffer, loving husband and father, peacefully passed away at his home at the age of 79.
Kirby was born on November 25th, 1942, in Carlisle to the late Leroy and Ruby (Dromgold) Sheaffer. He graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1960 before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1962. After serving in Thailand, Korea, and Vietnam, he was honorably discharged in 1966. He went to work at Letterkenny Army Depot as a technical writer for over 30 years. In 1981, he married the love of his life, Janice (Beecher) Sheaffer. They had one son, Brett, in 1985 and remained married for 42 years until his passing.
Kirby was a man of few words but many passions. He enjoyed learning "the Hustle" with his wife during the disco boom, attending the Indy 500 with his friends Dick, Bill, and Gary, and was a long-time fan of Roger Staubauch and the Dallas Cowboys.
His greatest passion, however, was his family. They took trips to Disney World, Texas, Topsail Island in North Carolina, and cruises to the Caribbean. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards with his son Brett, driving him around Cumberland County looking for railroad tracks to cross, and religiously attending all his athletic games.
In addition to his parents, Kirby was preceded in death by his sister, Ruthanne. He is survived by his wife Janice, his son Brett, his daughter in law Elizabeth, and two grandsons, Nathan and Emerson.
A viewing will be held from 6pm-8pm on Thursday, May 12th, 2022, at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory in Carlisle. A funeral service will be held on Friday May 13th, 2022, at 11am at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory in Carlisle. Following the funeral, Kirby will be laid to rest at the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
