Born February 4, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Rudy and Eleanor Dromgold.

Ruby was retired from the Carlisle Shoe Factory and from Giant Foods, both in Carlisle, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leroy W.; a brother, Emerson, her sister Doris Updegrove; and her daughter Ruth E. Weakley. She is survived by her son, Kirby L. Sheaffer and his wife, Jan, of Boiling Springs and her son-in-law James H. Weakley of Etters; two granddaughters, Michelle L. Latsha of Mechanicsburg and Kristine M. (Weakley) Funk and her husband, Brian, of Newville; two grandsons, James W. Weakley and his wife, Stephanie, of New York, and Brett L. Sheaffer and his wife, Elizabeth, of Carlisle; two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Madilyn Weakley.

Ruby loved spending time with her grand-dogs, enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Saint John Lutheran Church in Boiling Springs. She was a loving mother and grandmother, selflessly devoted to her family. She found joy in bringing happiness to her family and friends.

Ruby requested that there be no memorial service, but to remember her in your own special ways. She will be interred at the Mount Zion Cemetery, Churchtown, PA at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an animal rescue group of your choice.

Ruby married Leroy William Sheaffer. (Leroy William Sheaffer was born on 21 May 1925 in Boiling Springs, Cumberland, PA,⁵ died on 24 Mar 2004 in Carlisle, Cumberland, PA ⁵ and was buried in Churchtown: Mount Zion Cemetery, Cumberland, PA ⁵.)
