An early fall wedding was solemnized at the Broadway Methodist church Sunday September 5 when Miss Rosemarie Goodman was united in marriage to Walter Vernon Beecher, Jr.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jere O. Goodman, of Logansport and formerly of Lanton, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vernon Beecher Sr., also of Logansport.

Before an altar decorated with multi-colored gladioli, green fernery, assorted summer flowers and lighted by candlelight, the Rev, J. Vergil Siberal, pastor of the church, read the vows of the double ring ceremony.

Preceding and during the rites, Mrs. Myrtle Castle, organist, offered traditional bridal airs including "The Lord's Prayer" and "Ave Maria." Vocal selections "I Love You Truly" and "Because" were presented by Bill Gillum, soloist.

Miss Goodman, given in marriage by her father, was gowned in traditional white satin, featuring a low square neckline, defined by Chantilly lace, long fitted sleeves, tapering at the wrists and a gathered full skirt secured in the back by tiny satin covered buttons.

Her veil was of sheer illusion falling from a pearlized tiara. She carried a bridal bouquet composed of baby pink and white rosebuds bowed with white satin and her only jewelry was a strand of pearls, gift of the bridegroom.

Miss Pat McKillen of Logansport who attended the bride as maid of honor, wore a gown of pale green, also fashioned with a low neckline and long full skirt, She wore a headdress composed of net and matching gauntlets, Her bouquet was of colonial design featuring peach and yellow gladioli, tied with matching ribbon,

Homer Jenkins of Logansport served as best man. Mrs. Goodman, the bride's mother, chose a frock of cinnamon-brown, with brown accessories, complimented by a yellow pom pom corsage. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Beecher, wore navy blue crepe, black accessories and a white gardenia corsage.

A reception at the home of the bride's parents followed the ceremony. Hostesses for the occasion were Miss Georgianna Vaughn. Royal Oak, Mich., sister of the bride and Mrs. Robert Hunter, Logansport cousin of the bridegroom. Centering the long bridal table at which guests were seated was a three-tiered wedding cake, used with crystal and linen.

For traveling, the bride selected a suit of somber blue corduroy which she wore with accessories of brown and pink. Her corsage was of pink roses.

When the couple returns from their wedding trip to Niagara Falls, they will reside in Kokomo.

A graduate of Logansport high school, where she was president of the senior class, she is employed at present in the office at Osten's Department Store. Mr. Beecher, also a graduate of the Logansport high school, served in the armed forces and has completed one and one-half years at I. U. extension in Kokomo, which he will enter again this fall.

Guests from Linton who attended the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Flem Goodman, Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Webb, and Miss June Richardson.
