Two pretty and impressive weddings of popular young pairs were solemnized at Stanislaus R. C. church, Cherry and West streets, last evening and this morning, in the presence of large congregations, who were highly edified by the beautiful sight presented when the myriad, electric lights, hundreds of them, adorn the main altar were brilliantly illuminated, their rays blending harmoniously with the light shed by the four huge golden. candelabra, each bearing seven candles.
Rev. Thomas Grenbrowski, the rector, performed each ceremony, and delivered an eloquent sermon at each wedding, giving the young folks valuable advice. The choir sang special music at each wedding, under the direction of Prof. Powhulsky, the organist, and the singers sang with more than the usual fervor and sweetness for the reason, probably, that both brides are members of the St. Stanislaus choir, and both grooms are members of St. Casimir's R. C. church choir. the two choirs combining to sing at the weddings. Both brides' are pretty and accomplished and both grooms are among the most eligible of the two congregations' younger men.
