They were married 11 years and Emma had given birth to 4 children, 3 still alive in 1900. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania except Alfred's parents in England.

2. Census in 1910 in Shenandoah, Schuylkill, PA. 6 The 1910 census recorded at 24 Line Street: Alfred Harrox, working in a brewery, 46, living with wife Emma, 40; Harrold C., working in a grocery store, 17; Hazel M., 12; and Albert B., 6. Mr. Horrox has been with the company since last August and has traveled through many of the southern and western states. He left the company at Little Rock, Arkansas, to pay a short visit to his parents. He looks fine and says this is one great country.

13. Newspaper: Shenandoah Evening Herald, 26 May 1920, Shenandoah, Schuylkill, PA. 1 LOCAL BOY TAKES BRIDE IN NORTH CAROLINA
Harold Horrox, of Greenboro, N. C., son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Horrox, of Jardin street, and Cletus Burgess, of High Point, Miss., were married May 9th the Methodist Protestant church at the latter place, by the Rev. Brown. The attendants were Raymond Burgess and Miss Lorraine Burgess, brother and sister of the bride. The ceremony was witnessed only by the immediate family. Mrs. Horrox was assistant secretary of the Chamber of Commerce at High Point and is a daughter of William Burgess, a retired merchant of Mt. Airy, N. C. Mr. Horrox, until a few years ago, was a resident of town. At present he is employed as assistant manager of the Kress Stores Company Greenboro, N. C., and is one of the trusted employes of the company.
He is well known and esteemed in town and the best wishes of many friends are extended to him and his bride. They will reside at High Point.

He was born in Shenandoah, Pa., to John Albert and Emma Marguerite Beacher Horrox. Mr. Horrox was formerly manager of the McLellans store here. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cletus B. Horrox; a brother, Albert B. Horrox of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a sister, Mrs. Hazel M. Miller of Philadelphia. The body will arrive Tuesday morning at Sechrest Funeral Home, Lexington Avenue. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

HIGH POINT - The funeral for Harold C. Horrox, 73, of 621 42nd Street NW, Washington, D.C., will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sechrest Lexington Avenue Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The body will arrive here this morning. Mr. Horrox died Saturday.

Harold C. Horrox, 73, of 4621 42nd St., N. W., Washington, DOC., died at his home Saturday.
Horrox was born in Shenandoah, Pa., April 14, 1893, a son of John Albert and Emma Marguerite Beacher Horrox. On May 8. 1920, he was married to Mits Cletus Burgess of High Point. He was a member of the first Boys' Band organized in the United States and traveled three years with the B. A. Rofle Concert: For 20 years he was a chain store manager and was with Sears, Roebuck and Co. for 25 years. He left Sears to travel as a salesman and worked from Maine to Miami. At one time, he was manager of McLellan's Store in High Point. He was retired at the time of his death. He was a member of Elbrook Methodist Church in Washington.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cletus B. Horrox, of the home; one brother, Albert B. Horrox of Philadelphia, Pa.; and one sister: Mrs. Hazel M. Miller, also of Philadelphia.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sechrest Chapel by Dr. Haskell R. Deal, pastor of Elbrook Methodist Church. Burlal will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The body is expected to arrive early Tuesday and will be taken to Sechrest Funeral Home, Lexington Avenue. The family is expected to arrive in High Point sometime Monday.


Harold married Winnie Cletus Burgess, daughter of William D. Burgess and Jessie, on 9 May 1920 in High Point, Guilford, NC.1 (Winnie Cletus Burgess was born on 4 Jul 1889 in Ramseur, Randolph, NC 28 and died on 15 Oct 1987 in Washington, District of Columbia, DC 28.)
