2. Census in 1940 in West Manchester Twp., York, PA. ⁴ The 1940 census recorded owning a $5,500 home on Lincoln Highway: Sherman Ruth, carpenter, 49, living with wife Stella, 49; Grace, sewing in shirt factory, 25; and Edward, 23. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania and lived in the same house in 1935.

3. Newspaper: Gazette and Daily: Weddings: Myers - Ruth, 9 Nov 1940, York, York, PA. ¹ Miss Grace A. Ruth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Ruth, Lincoln highway west, was married in Baltimore at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Oct. 5, to Harold W. Myers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Myers, 722 West King street. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther Enders, pastor of Frist English Lutheran church, performed the ceremony in the church.
Mrs. Myers wore a blue crepe dress and a large blue hat with black and white accessories. Her flowers were a shoulder bouquet of orchids and yellow rosebuds.
The couple took a wedding trip through Washington, D. C., and points of interest in Virginia. They will reside at the home of the bride's parents for the present.
Mr. Myers works in the inspection department of the York Ice Machinery corporation.
