He was born December 24, 1948 in Carlisle to the late Charles and Evelyn (Beecher) LeDane.
John worked as an auto mechanic and enjoyed woodworking, photography and reading. He especially loved his four-legged companion, Jazmyn.
He is survived by: his companion of 18 years, Rose M. Pettit of Newville; a daughter, Ingrid A. (and husband Kent) Ramsey of Oxford, WI; a step-daughter, Connie M. (and husband John) Still of Carlisle; a step-son, Gary E. Reed of Carlisle; a brother, David LeDane of Washington, DC; two sisters, Linda Gingrich of Alinta, Perry County and Kathy Townsend of Pine Grove, PA; and four grandchildren, Akasha Chamberlain, Zach Hocker and Logan and Brianna Still.
In accordance with John's wishes, there will not be a public service.
