Mr. Beeker was a farmer and truck driver all his life. He was a member of St. Louis Crossing Independent Methodist Church, a charter member of St. Louis Crossing Community Center, had been Flat Rock Township assessor, served on the Indiana State Holstein Cattle Board and was a member of the National Holstein Association.

He also served on the board that was instrumental in the construction of Bartholomew County Jail in 1961.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Crossing Independent Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Bennett officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Norman Funeral Home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or St. Louis Crossing Independent Methodist Church.

Born in Bartholomew County Jan. 12, 1908, Mr. Beeker was the son of John G. and Mae Gonce Beeker. He married Sara E. Nading Aug. 30, 1928.

Survivors include a son, Tom Beeker of Hope; grandchildren, Cheryl Finke and Daniel and Jean Beeker, all of Hope, Brent Beeker of Michigan, Bruce Beeker of Greenfield and Angela Beeker of Springfield, Mo.; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Sept. 22, 2001; sons, Ed and John Beeker; brothers, Robert and Dean Beeker; and sisters, Helen McNealy, Bernice Snapp, Jeanette Hawkins, Martha Andrews, Edith Beeker and an infant sister.
