Ed Beeker
Hope -- Ed Beeker, 49, of Hope, died at 11:47 p.m. Wednesday at his home following a six-month Illness. He was an employee of Reliance Electric and a member of Hope Moravian Church. Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Albert Harke at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hope Moravian Church. Persons may call at Norman Funeral Home at Hope after 1 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Beeker was born in Bartholomew County Feb. 20, 1932, the son of Glenn and Sara Nading Beeker, also of Hope route 2. He married Irene Holder March 30, 1961, and she survives. He was a member of Clifford Order of the Eastern Star and Camoo Masonic Lodge at Clifford ; the Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine, both at Indianapolis, and Hope American Legion. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Other survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Beeker, a student at Ball State University at Muncie; two sons, Brent and Bruce Beeker, both at home; and a brother, Tom Beeker, also of Hope route 2. Memorials may be made to Hauser High School Band Fund through Norman Funeral Home.

Gary and Arlene were married in 1962 at The Amity E.U.B. Church in Greenfield by the Rev. Chester Grace. Gary is a life-long farmer and Arlene is a homemaker. They are members of Otterbein United Methodist Church. The couple are the parents of Roxana (Bruce) Clark of New Ross, Ind., and Rhonda (Bruce) Beeker of Greenfield. Ind. The couple are also very proud grandparents of six grandchildren: Matt, Aaron and David Clark and Ashley, Lori and Kelly Beeker. The couple celebrated their anniversary on a beautiful cruise of the Hawaiian Islands and a family dinner at Hollyhock Hill.
